From Hamilton to the Nations: The Impact of Everyday Evangelism
How a weekly street outreach in Hamilton grew into Love on The World, the Jesus Festival, church training with e3 Canada and SIX33 — the impact of everyday evangelism in Canada, and how you can be part of what God is doing next.
Right before Jesus ascended, he drew his followers a map. Not of roads, but of reach.
“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
Acts 1:8
Start where you are. Then go wider, and wider again. For Katie and me, "Jerusalem" has been Hamilton, Ontario. This is the story of what God has done as ordinary people kept saying yes on our own streets — and how it is reaching further than we ever imagined.
It started on one street in Hamilton
In 2014 we launched Love on Hamilton: weekly street evangelism and practical care for our city's homeless community, sharing the gospel with everyone we met. No stage. No budget. Just a conviction that every person is worth stopping for, and that the love of Jesus is for all people.
Over the years that outreach has gone wherever people are — streets, malls, hospitals, campuses, festivals. We've watched lives healed, chains of addiction broken, people delivered, and many come to faith in Christ. Baptisms and salvations have become regular testimonies. To God be all the glory.
Love on The World: from one city to many
What began as a small outreach grew into a movement of more than fifty people gathering every week to evangelize in Hamilton. Then it started to spread. Love on The World (loveontheworld.com) was born to carry the same heart to other cities, and it now lists outreaches in twelve communities, including Hamilton, Brampton, Waterloo Region, Guelph, Burlington, St. Catharines, Niagara and Moncton.
The model is simple on purpose: ordinary believers, trained and sent together, loving people practically and sharing Jesus clearly. Anyone can start a group where they live, and the vision is now global — to help establish 100 multiplying outreach groups anywhere and everywhere around the world.
The Jesus Festival: a city gathering in the open air
Every year the Jesus Festival (jesusfestival.ca) brings thousands together at Gage Park in Hamilton to worship, glorify God and share the message of Jesus with our city. It's free and family-friendly — a Friday worship night followed by a Saturday family festival. We believe it's one of the ways God is bringing revival to our city and our nation, because it puts the gospel where everyone can see and hear it.
Equipping the Church with e3 Canada
Street outreach alone was never the goal. The goal is disciples who make disciples. That's why we partnered with e3 Canada and I Am Second — they exist to equip believers to evangelize and establish multiplying, life-changing churches around the world. Together we train churches to make evangelism a lifestyle, not an event: giving believers the tools, confidence and courage to step out so God can move through them.
“I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow. So neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow.”
1 Corinthians 3:6–7
SIX33: carrying the Kingdom into culture
Not everyone will walk into a church or a street outreach. Many people live in arenas shaped by sport, fitness, music, adventure and style. That's why our brand SIX33 is coming soon at www.six33.world. Its name and its foundation are Matthew 6:33, and its message is simple: purpose, performance, culture, impact — a world for people who refuse to waste their potential.
SIX33 was never meant to end at apparel. A big part of its heart is raising funds for Love on The World — street-level outreach, meals, and people showing up for people — so that as the brand grows, the giving grows with it. And when there are numbers to show, they'll be real ones, in an honest impact report. The founding list is open now.
What impact really means
It's tempting to measure ministry in crowds and campaigns. Heaven measures differently. Jesus said there is more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine who don't need to. Every outreach night, every festival, every trained church and every SIX33 drop exists for the same reason: one more person meeting Jesus, then helping the next person meet him too.
- Salvations and baptisms — people stepping from darkness into the Kingdom of the Son.
- Freedom — addictions broken, people delivered, bodies and hearts healed.
- Multiplication — ordinary believers trained to share their faith, and groups that start new groups.
- Practical love — meals, care and friendship for people our cities often overlook.
- Culture — the name of Jesus carried into places a pulpit never reaches.
